Windows xp boots to blue screen only
If you've experienced a blue screen when you boot your computer, you'll know that it usually means there is something seriously wrong in your System. The blue screen on boot can be caused by many reasons, such as the hardware you installed created a conflict, a virus messed up the registry, or maybe a driver file is corrupt.
Here, this article is going to walk you through a few steps that you can take to troubleshoot this bluescreen on boot. Sometimes it is easy to fix the blue screen of death. The easiest way is to boot your computer in safe mode if you can't boot it usually. Go through each device category and scan all of the devices for the telltale yellow accent icon that indicates there's a device conflict.
If this doesn't help, run a whole scan for the System. Posted 16 October - AM. Hello msr Welcome to G eeksTo G o, I'm sorry to hear about your issue.

It lists the series of files it is loading but then gets stuck and won't complete the boot. Can you tell me what driver it stops on when it freezes? Posted 17 October - AM. It stops loading with the following on the screen Microsoft windows xp build Have you tried to boot to Last Known Good Configuration in the boot menu?
Is the above message on the top of the screen? Normally that message doesn't appear until it loads windows and in every corner you should see Safe Mode. I have not tried last good configuration. Yes that message is across the top and safe mode is in every corner. When I press f10 to go into boot mode the option of last good configuration doesn't exist. Where would I access last good configuration? I believe that is the wrong menu. You would need to click F8 to get to the advanced boot menu.
This is where you would find Safe Mode Last Known good configuration. I just tried last known good configuration and from there it asks me which operating system and then goes to the windows xp loading screen and then goes to the solid blue screen again. No luck trying that. Ok there are two operating systems? Have you tried the other one? Can you tell me what the operating systems listed are? For clarification F8 will get you the boot up options for last known good config, safe mode, start normally.
