Panasonic dmr-ez27 firmware update

When all was said and done, the situation remained the same - no digital channel tuning. It is as if the thing could never tune digital channels in the first place!!!! I had the same problem with a EZ just lacks the upconverting yours has. A few days later the digitals all disappeared and I only got analog. I exchanged the machine for another new one and that one worked fine.

I don't know what to tell you about fixing it, sending it in would far outweigh its worth. Did you try a factory reset? That's done by when the unit is powered on holding down both the channel up and channel down buttons on the main unit for at least 10 seconds.

I guess it's worth a shot if you haven't already tried it. Thank you jjeff - the process you suggested was a repeat of what occurred after doing the firmware update. This time, I used a non-split cable signal, but the results were the same - no digital channels. It would appear that I have one of those "flaky" models you suggested. The factory date on the back of this one is August - maybe that means something, then again maybe not.

Had considered a Kworld Saq le tuner before painfully discovering that its component outputs would not go into my Panasonic DVD unit. Never heard of that box you've linked but NO it would not work. It looks like it only has VGA and component outputs. Your EZ only has component outputs not inputs. I'll Check out the Channel Master device and see what it does.

Thanx-A-Lot for all the info, FrankVidep. My original wording may have been a little confusing, but just so you know, the CM is only for antenna reception not cable. You'd need a QAM or digital cable box to work on a cable system. There currently aren't any cheap QAM boxes available that I know of, maybe a few used ones though. I had same problem. It fixes by pressing 'reset' switch while analog channel scan is in progress.

It isn't elegant way, though. What has happened to Panasonic The other units EH50 and the E50 [without harddrive] were all good units. Go back a few years Smurf praised the JVC units Folks here But now Memory card. Normally we wouldn't give a DVD recorder without a built-in hard-drive a second look. Once you've experienced the simplicity of hard drive video recording and editing, it's hard to go back to recording on capacity-challenged removable media. If you're wondering why they'd include a digital ATSC tuner on a standard definition recorder, well it can be summed up in two words: future proof.

Oh, you'll still be able to record from a cable box or external set-top box, but you will no longer be able to tune in your shows and record them directly onto a hard drive, DVD or tape without the help of an external tuner. Not so with this new Panasonic. While the machine is powered on you want to hold down both the CH up and CH down on the main unit for at least 5 seconds. This will do a factory reset, but if you're firmware is corrupted I'm not sure if it's going to help you. Note I've read you want to burn firmware updates to CDs and not DVDs, not sure if this could have caused your problems?

If you can find an older version of the firmware you can try to load that, but if you lost power during a firmware upgrade, sometimes the player is destroyed. That is one of the risks that can happen during firmware upgrades - if the upgrade is interrupted, the upgrade will be corrupted and it can make the player useless.

You could try to get the player repaired and get new firmware in it, but that will probably cost as much as a new player. Hi everyone,s orry for bringing something quite old once again, but I am having some problems with my DMR-EZ25, and I was wondering, does anyone know where I can get the firmware or any updates for it??? I've read around that you can burn it onto a DVD and load it up to the machine. I've try looking in the official Panasonic websites but i cant seem to find my model anymore, I assume that it has definately been discontinued, thus I dont know where I can obtain it.

I'm not going to sell it. Surely if this person got hold of it on a disc, it can still be obtainable??? Contact Us VideoHelp Top.
