Cannot view a pdf in a web browser

This is an older issue and may be resolved going forward. To resolve this issue, open up Acrobat Reader, go to edit - preferences. Click ok and close Adobe. If so, then you have come to the right place. Opening any PDF file is a very easy task to complete.

You can do it by installing a PDF reader. Generally, if there are no extra downloading tools, then the automatic default downloading tool is the web browser. With the web browser, anyone can download PDF files. But, certain files can be previewed with the help of Word, Excel etc. Normally speaking, if you do not have extra corresponding apps, like some kind of files downloading tool, installed on your computer, then your web browser is the default tool to download files from the Internet without opening these target files.

Only with some extensions plug-ins added to your web browser, you are able to preview the files in your web browser, say, PPT, Excel, Word, etc. It is the same with PDF. Important basic steps to be followed, in order to download a PDF, are:. Step 2: Once the extension pages get opened, click the link 'Get more extensions'. When it has been installed successfully, a prompt could tell you that you can use it now. Restart Chrome. Step 4: Now, every time there is a PDF file that you want to read, it will be opened in Google Chrome instantly without any trouble.

If you want to open a PDF file with the internet explorer, you should follow these simple steps that are stated below. You should see a list of add-ons. Step 1: After launching the Firefox browser and in the main menu of the browser, click on 'Tools' and then on 'Add Ons'. Step 2: This will open the 'Add Ons' window with a bunch of options. Locate and click on 'Plugins'.

From the new window that will open up select 'Adobe Reader' or 'Adobe Acrobat' plugin. Does anyone know how this can be changed?

If the problem doesn't recur when you are logged on to the new account, then the original user account may be damaged. We are getting this error on our terminal server running Adobe Reader 9. The registry entries are all correct. There is no older version of Reader installed, nor was there ever. The error still appears no matter if you have "display PDF in browser" check or unchecked.

It will download the file and open it in Reader still no matter what that check box's status is. However, certain websites will not download the PDF after displaying the error. Tried a new profile for a certain user in particular and that didn't help. Uninstalled v9 and am installing v8 to see if it works better.

Unfortunately, Reader is one of those awesome apps that requires a restart and I can't do that until after hours. Cool, a reinstall and reboot of our terminal server made the error go away. I tried solutions from apepp's list they did not correct the problem. However, 4, trying a new user works fine. How do I correct the existing user's account to solve this problem?
